Duets is a feature on TikTok where you can create your own video and post it alongside another creator’s video. Many creators use this feature to react to others’ videos or to insert themselves into the original creator’s storyline.
Here’s a flawless example of the original creator (right) posting a fake job interview. And the creator on the left dueting this video, pretending to be the interviewer.
The term “Straight TikTok” covers the mainstream, popular, glossy, dancing beautiful teenager side of TikTok. Many creators post duet reactions to these “straight” TikTok videos.
Here, these guys do a good job showing us what Straight TikTok is and how most people react to it:
One particularly cringey side of Straight TikTok involves these young, male-model-types posting “scripts” where they talk to you as if you’re their ever-lusting girlfriend.
Whatever side of TikTok I am on is the opposite of this. So I get to relish in these awesome duets by women reacting to them.

Even though I felt like Eva was making funny videos just for me, turns out she’s like way famous over on Twitter. She writes for Reductress and is a legit actress. Thankfully, we can enjoy her weird humor over on TikTok before she gets too big and stops posting.
