TikTok Trends, Nicki Minaj, Glitches, Grandpa Texts, and more!

The first trend is a TikTok video by Nicki Minaj (@nickiminaj) wishing a friend a happy birthday. There was a weird glitch where people sent video replies in the comments. The videos were usually weird gifs or memes. People also kept calling out how weird Nicki’s eyes looked.

Melissa mentions a video from @nemocsnemiahsmith answering the question, “What’s something you’re supposed to like but you find annoying?” He pans to the backseat of his car to show his kids waving and smiling.

The next trend is texting your grandpa. We highlight videos from @anjanaa_aaaa and @meganelizabeth1016. The first grandpa essentially threatens to go on a hunger strike if his granddaughter doesn’t stop drinking alcohol. The second grandpa keeps reading news stories that he finds relevant to his granddaughter, like how you are likely to die alone if you don’t find a parter by age 29.

A new TikTok trend uses the magnified eyes filter and the song, “Hello my names Jeff.” The original was a song called “Ew” by Baby Kaely saying, “My name is Zuzie. That’s Zuzie with a Z.” TikTok stars Bella Porch (@bellapoarch) and Oneya D’Amelio (@angryreactions) did the trend.

Final trend is the pet thought bubble effect with the sound, “hangin_wit_my_gnomies.” We’ve seen some dark ones featuring a chihuahua thinking about death and a golden retriever thinking about 9/11.
